Activities Information

Activities are an integral part of Scouting, and what makes it so exciting for the young people involved. From here you should be able to find all the information you need to provide all the activities your young people can manage.

Find an activity

As a starting point we would suggest you look at the A-Z of Activities under Find an activity. This is designed to link you to all the information you need to run any particular activity, and to give you new ideas of activities you could run. The factsheets 'Scout Led Activities Index' and 'Commercially Led Activities Index' also provide much of this information in factsheet format.

What we do

1st Dorcan Scout Group is run with an "Outdoors and Active" approach.

We like to get the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts out  and about on various activities as much as possible.

As children grow, learn more skills and progress  through the group, the activities that they are involved in will become more  challenging. You will find that there is some personal kit (clothes and  equipment) that will be needed to maintain your child's wellbeing and safety  during these activities.

The group does have some clothing/equipment that  is available to borrow should you not be able to obtain the appropriate items  in time for an activity. (Please speak to the Section Leader prior to the  activity if you think you may need to make use of these items).

Outdoor activities often involve getting wet  and/or dirty. Please bear this in mind with regard to your child's clothing  when taking part in outdoor activities.

Below are some guidelines and information about  the various outdoor activities that 1st Dorcan run as part of the Scouting programme.

If you are uncertain or require clarification about  anything, please speak to the Section Leader or Leader running the event.
